CAPTAIN SIMSON'S RICCARTON SPEECH
(To the Editor.) gj r —"Will you allow me a small space to applaud Captain Simson's splendid spcecli oil the Riccarton Racecourse. H„ s poke the truth in every sentence, and it is a matter of amazement to me that our National Government have not vet grasped tho situation with regard to racing. It should have been put down at tlio first, so that tlio nation might have devoted all its energies and thoughts to the war, and as long as the Government backs up the racing public so long will it experience difficulty in securing rccruits. I only liopo that Captain Simson's words will causo everyone responsible for racing to reconsider the matter and abolish racing till tho war is over.—'Thanking you in anticipation, I am, etc., A.G.H., A Subscriber to The Dominion from its first issue.
