They steamed forty thousand nules without a serious overhaul, and it was a strenuous timo for evervone\ _. Oil arriving in England, Rear-Admiral Sir Goorge Patey was appointed to tho Leviathan, and Rear-Admiral Pakenhain was given the Australia, which was made tho flagship of tho Second Battle Cruiser Squadron. Admiral Pakenliam was eulogistic in bis appreciation of the Australians' conduct and efficiency. The common expectancy was tho strongest tie between tho officers and the men, all saying that tliev would not miss what is coming on any account.
