ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL
On"Saturday evening an interesting gathering in connection with . the Y'.M.C.A. Boys' Association '-Football Club took place. Mr. J. H. Worboys, patron'of the club, presided over an attendance of ninety members and guests, who sat down to a banquet in honour of tho Boys' Club. Toasts honoured were: "The King" "The Winners." proposed by Mr. E. Phillips, replied to by tho captains of the winning teams; "The Coaches," proposed by Mr. M. Tracey (physical director), replied to by Mr. Mears; "W.F.A. and Boys' Sub-Committee," proposed by Mr. Bafleeu, replied to by Mr. W. Auld; "Our Opponents," proposed by Mr. F. Thomas, replied to by Mr. S. Adams; "The Y.M.C.-A.," proposed by Mr C. J. Ward, replied to by Mr. A. E. Smith. During the ovening the cups won by tho various teams wero presented to the captains by Mr. A. Williams, secretary of the Wellington Football Association, and the chairman presented the following medals for superior service:—Third Division, V. 'Halloy and J. Paton; Fourth B Division, J. Piko; Fifth A Division, H. Fiebig; Fifth. B Division, A. Twist; Sixth Divison, A. Tarrant. Medals were also presented to each of the members of the 4th A Team in recognition of the splendid performance put up during the season. Mention was made during the evening that over 200 ox-membere serving _ thenKing and country. A most enjoyablo evening was brought to a close; by the singing of tho National Anthem. .
