RAILWAY SECTION, I-lUIT AND ' , PETONE. The weekly parade of the above corps was held at the Drillshed on Tuesday, Lieutenant H. Simons, 0.C., being in charge. Owing to tho unavoidable absence of the instructor, Sergeant S. Bla/nd, Sergeants W. G. Savage and H. Perfect put the company through the usual routine of company work, together with some useful rifle practice. At the invitation of Lieutenant Simons the company retired to the shooting range, which range was .created and founded by tho joint action of tho railway section and Petone unit. The ambulance and signalling classes are maintaining the standard set them, and with credit. PETONE UNIT. At last 'evening's'parade of the Petone unit Lieutenant Anderson was O.C. After the platoon was \ put tKrough squad drill, the various section.commanders. took their respective squads, and about half an hour's extended order drill was indulged in, Sergeant-Major Stewart supervising.- At a meeting held subsequently it was' unanimously dei cided to .purchase Wo miniature rifles for the unit.
