WILL THE MINISTER PLEASE NOTE?
Sir, —Your King; and country ■ want you is a call wliicij has been responded to 'heriocally and the patriotism of Nov; Zealand is amply emphasised at intervals by the troopships leaving our shores. A noticeabto portion of the public, however, many of whom arc brave enough to stay at homo and wave flags whilst telling the other man to go, are seizing this time of stress and sorrow for a golden harvest at tho expense of iflioso who are fighting to keep them at homo. I refer to some of those who supply tho needs of soldiers at tho various camps. In the recent issuo of uniforms at one of our camps tho fitting was in many cases unsatisfactory, and tho tailor was in consequence consulted, and for various small alterations exorbitant charges were made, evidently in view of the.fact that there was no competition. Now, sir, do you not think it [irould be a wise procedure for tho Government to take over theso various shops and conduct tliem in a manner which will show a little -consideration to those who are going to uphold the principles of righteousness and justice? —I 1 am, etc.,. \ SERVE THOSE WHO SERVE, YOU.
