On Tuesday, November 16 at S p.m., the annual meeting of the District Nursing Guild of SI-. John will be hold in St. John's Schoolroom, Willis Street. Commencing at 1.30 p.m. sharp on Monday next an important sale by public auiv 'tion will bo held by E. Johnston and Co., at their rooms, 157 Lambton Quay. The articles, which will bo offered, aro many tsid varied, and consist of carpets, hearthrugs, etc., linoleum, runners, etc., and Seagrass chairs. A number of bales of carpets and rugs, ex tho Rangatira from London, will also be offered for sale. The half-yearly meeting of tho Wellington Hotel and Restaurant Workers' Union will bo held in tho Trades Hall, on Monday, November 15 at 8 p.m. Tho Jfartinborough horse sale, conducted by Abraham and Williams, Ltd.. will be held on Thmrsday, November 18 at 1 p.m. Full particulars of tho 31 horses to bo sold may be seen in our advertising columns. Jupp's Band will render several selections at Newtown Park to-morrow afternoon.
