MAIN TRUNK LINE
SLIPS DELAY TRAINS. Heavy slips on the Main Trunk line in tho middle of the island delayed all trains yesterday. The express, which usually readies here, at 6.26 a.m., did not reach Wellington until shortly after 10 a.m., being hold up at To Kuiti because of obstructions on the line southwards of that station. Tho slips aro duo to very heavy rains which havo. fallen in the mountainous part of tho route where the line traverses treacherous country. Tho second express inwards yesterday, which should have readied Thorndon at 2.40 p.m., did not arrive until 10.20 pirn.—nearly eight hours late. The northward express, which left. here'at 9.10 p.m., was also subject to heavy delay. By Telegraph.—'rross Association. Te Kuiti, November 12. Flood conditions prevail in consequence of a sßvcro storm last night. No damage is reported, but the trains aro delayed on account of slips between To Kuiti and Porootarao. The line is submerged between Hangataki and Otorohanga, i but the trains aro, getting through. Tho south-bound express is about seven" hours late.'
