N.Z. 'council meeting
' A meeting of the Council of tho New Zealand Football Association was held last, overling, Mr. C. E. Fordham (Otago) presiding. The following delegates were also present;— Messrs. T. M'Lean (Auckland), H. M'Keo'wen (Hawke's Bay), R-. Y. Walls (Wellington),'R. Hutcheson (Marlborough), T. Gilbert (Buller), W. J. H.' Reynolds (Poverty Bay), and B. L. Salmon (secretary). '
An. appeal was lodged by the Auckland Y.M.C.A. against the action of the Auckland Football Association in ■refusing to approve the .formation of a .Y.M.C.A. League. It was decided that tho decision of the New Zealand Councilj passed. at last meeting regarding this matter, bo upheld.
Letters received from the Auckland Football Association stated that 108 members of clubs afiiliatod to that association had joined the Expeditionary Forces, a.nid also that 20 members had been drafted to garrison duties. Tho Canterbury Football Association wrote stating that 55 members of - affiliated clubs in that district had joined tho Expeditionary Forces.
The secretary (Mr. B. L. Salmon) stated that 110 more meetings of the would be held till next year. Only two ordinary meetings of tho council had been held this season.'
Tho Auckland • Referees' Association ivroto asking for a Tilling whether a member of that body could officiate as referee in matches between clubs not affiliated to the Auckland Football Association. ! It was decided to forward an answer in the negative.
