A French Commercial Commission of five members lias arrived at New York to arrange for purchases, for use at tho conclusion of the war, exceeding thirty million pounds sterling in value. Tho purchases—structural steel, machinery, and industrial supplies—were formerly made in Germany. Tho Commissioners state that while ostensibly purchasing supplies to reconstruct and modemiso French industries after tho war, their visit has ,i widei purpose, as they are looking for the establishment of reciprocal ami treaty relations.
