PATEBNA ON SPF/OIAL RUNNING. In order to comply with the wishes of the Marlborough people, the Union Company has decided to dispatch tho Patoena for Picton at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 16—the day prior to the Marlborough racee. The Pateena will come direct to Wellington from Nelson; on Tuesday morning, arid by leaving here at the time mentioned should reach. Picton at 11 p.m. on November 16. WESTRALIA' FOR THE COASTAL TRADE. It is announced that the Huddart-Parker steamer Westralia, after having been cnjraged in the Melbourne-Newcastle trad© for some months, will make her reappearance in the East Coast service towards the end of this month. She will leave Melbourne on November ,25 for Dunedin direct, and will be dispatched from the southern port on December 3 for Lyttelton, Wellington, Napier, Gisborne, anid Auckland.
j S.S. PARATTAH EN ROUTE. ' Word has been received by the local office of the A. and A. Line that their chartered steamer. Parattali cleared New York on October 16 for New Australian ports. It is known that the i vessel will make calls at Lyttelton and : Dunedin, but here other ports of call are uncertain. RARAWA MISSES A TRIP. The local agents for the Northern Steamship Company were advised yesterday that on account of the heavy sea on the Manukau Bar the trip to New Plymouth had to be abandoned. She will e*ail on Thursday, however, and will leave New Plymouth Breakwater for Onchunga on Friday evening, as usual, on arrival of the mail train, from Wellington.

She is due at her destination about November 30. JETHOU LEAVES HEW YORK. The Berber chartered steamer Je.thou left New York on October 25 for Now Zealand and Australian ports, via Durban. She will be followed on the loading berth by the Satsuina, 4224 tons (Oaptalni Chamberlain) on he'half of the.same liner The Mokoia, which is due from Melbourne. via. southern ports on Friday, will land 660 tons of cargo here, and not 492 as previously announced, before sailing for Hobart and Melbourne on Saturday next. Bad weather at Westport yesterday wafl responsible for delaying the departure of the Kittawa and Komata for Wellington. Tho Kamo was held up at Greymouth under similar circum6taraccs. Duo here to-morrow the Corinna mill leave the same day for Nelson and New Plymouth. At the latter port 7000 crates of cheese and 11.500 boxes of butter wall bo loaded for transhipment to tlie Rangatira. for London. < The Sbaw-SaviU liner Kararnwi is scheduled to leave Port Chalmers for Gisborne to-morrow. The Rangatira will bo at Port Chalmers to-day, and she is due or- Tuesday next for Homeward loading. An unusually large cargo amounting to about 250 tons was brought to Wellington from Nelson end Picton by the Patcena last evening. Ths coastal steamer Wairau, which has been laid up at- Blenheim since. April last, is about to be recommiseioned for the Wellington-Blenheim service to run in conjunction with tlie Opawa. Bound from Livernool, under the auspices of tho F. and S. Line, the Orari was expected to leave Auckland oarly this morning. On Friday the vessel will commence discharge of 3280 tons of local cargo. The steamer Century, 42*8 tons, will load general cgtko at New Zealand ports next month' for Home under the auspices of the New Zealand Shipping Company.
As the Government steamer Hinemoa'was bar-bound -at Ifoipara yesterday she will not arrive hfre from northern lighthouses before Saturday next. The A.M.S. Sonoma is due at San Francisco from Sydney to-day. On this occasion the stay of the Sonoma at the Californian port will only be six'days, as she will leave there on November 16 in order to arrive at Sydney on December 7, and thus inaugurate the company's throeweekly sc'vic.?. by taking her departure again on Wednesday. December 15. The barque Active, 699 tons, which recently changed ownership; has been fixed to .load coel at Newcastle for Auckland. After having been tied up at Clyde Quay for a considerable time the Government steamer Tntanekai was token to an anchorage in the stream yesterday morning,
