The acceptances are up to the standard, and another successful day should result. In the Canterbury Cup both Snub and Warstop will oppose Balboa and Indigo. The weight will suit the three-year-old, who will only have to carry 7st. 3lb.,"aud probably Warstep will be runner-up. Another hot order will be Desert Gold in the Oaks.. In to-day's race, Nones will be without the assistance of anything to go out in the first part and worry Desert Gold. In the ISuburban Hurdles Hikakaheke should strip a greatly improved horse, as on Monday, when he shaped so well, he was making his first public' appearance over fences. Despite the size of the field the public may send Botanist out as the choice. The full brother to ileatherbrae is making his first tipprarant'c ill the meeting, but his last outing was at Trentham, where ho won with 9st. Gib. in the saddle. The locally-owned Taringamutrr has 7st. 7lb. in the Jockey Club Handicap, which is only lib. more than she scored with in tho Pearco Handicap at Trentham. She is to bo ridden by C. Emerson. Flving Start, runner-up to First Glance in"the Criterion Handicap, may come in for support, but' the chances of the topweight, Chortle, .must he held in respect.
