FRUIT FOR SAILORS
The following donations have heen received towards the Sailors' Fruit Fund: Mesdames Synthson, 0. R. Smith, Brownrigg, Jones (Petone), Watson, "A Sailor's Mother," Daimont, "A Friend of the Troops," Mr. Kelly, L. Nancox, Ngaio; Bluejacket, Mr. and Mrs. N.' Kirkcaldie, Levin; Miss Rene Queree, A. J. Pet'heriok, Mr. W. H. Hodgson, Mr. Rowland, Miss Ackland; also 14s. 7jd. from the Misses Nellie and Kathleen Evans, two small girls, who collected the above stun. Messrs. Hill Bros., and various customers liava largely contributed towards the fund.
A social gathering was held at, St. Michael and All Angels' Churchroom, Upland R/oad, Keltarn, last evening, to meet the Rev. H. Watson, and. also to bid farewell to tho Rev. Mr. Bray. There was a large gathering of parishioners, and in addition to the speeches called for by the occasion ail enjoyable programme of hrusic, recitations, etc., was contributed. A subject that was discussed during tho evening was the matter of the erection of a permanent church. Refreshments were served, and farewells taken of Mr. Bray by his late parishioners.
