Fat extracted from wool in the process of cleaning it for manufacture is dissolved and diluted with benzine or _ naphtha and the garment is soaked in this solution for a few minutes, neither the colour nor the fabric being the ieast impaired by the treatment.
One of the nurses looking after the wounded soldiers at St. Mary's Hospital, Paddington, is Princess Arthur of Connaught. She assists at the dressings and takes ordinary "turns."
