LINCOLN SHEEP BREEDERS

. THE ANNUAL REPORT. At the annual meeting of the Lincoln Sheep. Breeders' Association held in Palmorston last evening, the following report was submitted:—

_ Your council have pleasure in submitting herewith the fourth annual report and balance-sheet of the affairs cf the association for the consideration, of members. The period covered is eighteen months (which was stated in the last annual report and agreed to by members) to eftect the alteration of the end of the financial year from December 31 to June 30.

Since the last annual meeting 22 flocks have been admitted, after inspection, by yonr council's officers. The number of registored flocks on June 80, 1915, was 182. As much difficulty was experienced during the past year in the inspection of .flocks, which were dispersed before due notification, your council wish to strongly emphasise the importance of members notifying the secretary of all impending sales, so that. arrangements can bo made for inspection before tho sheep leave tho vendor's property. The association has now been incorporated in accordance with the Incorporated Societies' Act, 1908. .Tho amount appearing for legal fees in the balance-sheet was incurred in connection with the incorporation of the so"iety. As requested by tho registrar; tho name of the society, which was Tho New Zealand Lincoln Sheep Breeders' Association, has been altered to "The Lincoln Sheep Breeders' Association of New Zealand."

A show case of Lincoln wool'containing sampleo from various members' flocks was forwarded to the Panama Exposition as an exhibit by your association, and was awarded a medal of honour. Several members took advantage of the opportunity offered by the Government to send exhibits of both fleece and bale wool to the Exposition, and gained medals of honour and gold medals. Tho full list of awards, howover, aro not yet to hand.

New Zealand has been awarded the Grand Prix of tho Exposition for strong wools, and no doubt tho exhibits of our members helped to gain this distinguished honour.
