NATIONAL RESERVE
ISLAND BAY-BERHAMPORE COMPANY. On Tuesday evening the Island BayBerhamporo Company of the Reserve hold its weekly parade on Wakefield Park. There was a satisfatcory muster, and the first part of tho evening was devoted to company drill, in which tho platoon commanders were given an opportunity of handling the'whole, company. This was followed, by a new departure of a very interesting character, when tho company, under Staff-Sergeant-Major Clifford Smith, of Trentheni, made its first acquaintance with the system of bayonet drill as taught to the Expeditionary Forces. Ser-geant-Major Clifford Smith' intimated his willingness to continue tho instruction at subsequent parades, and the best thanks of the company aro due to him for so generously offering his services at a time when he is already s» fully occupied by his camp duties. ' As tho success of the instruction in this class of work depends on its continuity it is hoped that members will make a special effort to attend parades regularly, and thus show their appreciation of tho generous offer of the sergeantmajor.
