Messrs, Dalgcty and Company, Welling, ton, report having held their weekly Levin sale on Wednesday, when they offered a good yarding of sheep and a very heavy yarding of cattle. . All classes of sheep sold well under the hammer, the cattle met with exceptionally animated competition,, and they obtained prices for fat cows, which Is a record for the Levin yards for this ciasß of stock. Fat cows sold on account of Mr. John Kcbbell. of Ohau, realised from £14 10s. to £16 12s. Other quotations,:—Fat wethers, to 335.; . empty ewes, 215., 255. to 255. New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report that at their Levin sale on Wednesday thoy offered a small entry of sheep and a full yarding of cattle-(prin. cipally young stock) to a good attendance of buyers. Competition was good through, out, and, with the exception of two pens of heifers the whole of their yarding changed hands at satisfactory prices. They quote :— Mixed aged owe 3, with lambs at foot, 255. Id. j medium fat cows, £8 55.; forward cows, £7 53.; store cows, £3 to £5 55.; 2-year steers (rough), £5 25.; yearling steers (mixed colours). £2 Bs. to £3 lis.; yearling Jorsoj'-cross heifers. £3 to £3 6s. 6d.; others, do., £1 15s. to £2 Us.; heifere, in calf, £3 19s. 6d.; springing heifers, £6 9s. to £7; yoarllng/Jersey bulls. £3 ss. to £5 7a. 6d. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report:—At Shannon on Tuesday we had a fair entry of sheep and a heavy yarding of cattle, and have to Teport practically a total clearance under the hammer at highly satisfactory prices.. Pigs (good entry): Weaners, 14a.. 14s. 9d. to 155.; forward store cows, £6 10s. to £7 Us.; forward store heifers, £6 95.; 2-ycar empty heifers, £3. 9s. to £3 145.; store cows. £3 lis.; yearling heifers, £2 Is.; mised yearlings, 355.; Hereford bull. BJgns.; springing heifers, £4 10s. to £5. Wo also sold on account of Wounded Soldiers' Fund, 1 Southdown ewe, donated by Mr. A. J. Speedy, which realised £4 10s., and 1 fat 3-year steer, donated by. Mr. Bobt. Johnstono, which was bought by Mr. James M'Kenzio for £13, who gave it bad; to the fund, and on being offered again realised £12—a grand total of £29 10s.
