WELLINGTON'S GOOD POSITION LATEST VOLUNTEERS

'A return was furnished by the Dofenoe Department yesterday showing tho position of recruiting in the four military districts—Wellington, Auckland, Canterbury, and Otago. The figures, whioh are prepared up till Saturday last, October SO, show two things— (1) the percentages of registrations then on the books, and (2) the percentage of recruits passed as physically fit and remaining to be examined. "Wellington in nearly every ca«s is in the excellent position of being well ahead of any other district, in many cases supplying olose iipon half the total number. Wellington has also been called upon to supply nearly half of 'the Bth and 10th Reinforcements.
