SUMMARY AND FORECAST

Present indications are for northerly and westerly vrlnds, strong: to galo generally, probably backing to southerlies shortly. Expect unsettled and cloudy weather with general rain, and heavy rain with rivers rising in the West Coast and southernmost districts. Barometer fall farther, but- rise in the south after, from 24 to 36 hours. A westerly low-prcssuro area has overspread the country to-day, and the winds have veered to freshening northerlies.
