Sir John French reports: "The onerny on October 29 heavily, bombarded the area east of Ypres. Otherwise the wet and misty weather has made tho artillery on both sides loss active during tho last four days. "Mining activity continues. "Tho casualties which have been published of tho seven German bat; talions at Loos show that tho losses averaged 80 per cent." HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. The High Commissioner reports: — London, November 2, 12.55 a.m. "In Belgium a bombardment by the enemy, accompanied by attacks, were futile. / . "In Champagne, at Tahure, German attacks were stopped by our artillery and mitrailleuses." GERMAN OFFICIAL COMMUNIQUE. (Rec. November 2, 8.40 >p.m.) Amsterdam, November 1. A German' communique states: "There were several air encounters in the Belfort region. They ended in our favour." GERMAN REINFORCEMENTS ARRIVING., (Rec. November 2, 5.5., p.m.) * ' i Rotterdam, November 1! German reinforcements are reported to be arriving on the western lino. These include cavalry from tho eastern front.
