CAPTAIN FRANDI MEMORIAL

-o A most successful entertainment was held in the Concert Chamber last night in aid of a fund for the purpose of raising some suitable memorial to the memory of Captain Frandi, who was killed in action m Gallipoli, leading his company. Tho concert was given by No. 31 Company of the Wollington City Senior Cadets (formerly Captain Frandi's command), assisted by a tod}' of amateurs styled "The Purple Courtiers." These latter performers, as their titlo implies, wore a uniform of sorts, • the ladies purple frocks with brief and the men purplo suits, after the manner oi costume comedy companies with whom we are all familiar enough nowadays. The entertainment they offered was similar in cltaracter, and much of it not at all inferior in quality, to that purveyed by professional concert parties, light music with a dash of comedy here and there. A cadet team gave excellent displays of physical drill, bayonet fighting, and rifle drill. Following is a list of tlio other performers taking part in the concert:—Miss Meville, Miss Jones, Miss D. Jones, Miss Alice M'Keon, Miss Myrtle Bouttell, Miss Thelma Hugo, Miss Elvira Lenzini, Master Leonard Power, Master Rodney Pankhurst, and Messrs. Gerald Beli, G. Peek, J. Bryant, W. M'Keon, ana A'. Ncos.
