FURIOUS ATTACK BY THE GERMANS ENEMY REPULSED WITH HEAVY LOSS By Telwrraph—Press Association—Copyright .. . Paris, October 31. A communique states: "The enemy's bombardment in Champagne developed with the greatest violence on a front of fivo miles from Hill 193. laliure Hill, and failure Village to La Courtine. "It was lollowed by an attack carried out by important masses of infantry, tho majority being men who had recently been at tho Russian front. Despito the vigour of tho attack, and the assailants' extreme desperation, the enemy suffered a serious defeat. "Our Ore decimated waves of tho attackors on tho whole front, the assailants only reaching tho summit of Tahure Hill. Everywhere else, especially on the front at tho village, where tho fighting was particularly obstinate, the Germans were completely, repulsed and driven back to the trenches, leaving a, very largo number of doad."
