' ON Behalf of'the Major's Patriotio Committee I desire 'to express my sincere thanks for, and appreciation ot, the splendid services rendered by all those ■wlio took part in the Reception to tho Wounded and Invalided Soldiers who returned by the S.S. Tofua; to the Citizens for their display of bunting, and their enthusiastic welcome; to the members ot the Automobile Club, private car owners, aud taxicab owners, who so generously conveyed the men to and from the Town Hall; to tho Salvation Army Band for their' services in the procession; to tho large number of ladies who so kindly assisted in the Town Hall, and also to the ladies of the St. John Ambulance Association for help rendered to the Wounded Men; and to the Police for their assist ance on the Major. 29th October, 1915. / WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL. MUNICIPAL GOLF LINKS, TOWN BELT, BERHAMPORE. OFFICIAL OPENING. THE Wellington Muflioipal Golf Links \till bo officially opened by His Worship the Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke) on SATURDAY AFTERNOON NEXT, the 30th instant, at 2 o'clook. The Public are invited to be present on the occasion. Access is best obtained to the Links by taking the Island Bay car to the corner of Luxford Street and Adelaide Road, and walking to Brittomart Street, off the right-hand side of Adelaide Road, inhere at tho extreme end the Links abut on tho street.
After the Official Op&fting, an 18-hole Match -will be played between two professionals, E. S. Douglas, of Miramar (tilio Open Champion of New Zealand), and J. Watt, of Herotaunga. : Tho following are tho fees arranged for . the use of the Course after the Oponing Day:— . For each round of 9 holes Sixpence. Half-season Tickets, permitting play until 31st March, 1916, will bo issued to persons on payment of 10s. fid. This ticket provides for play on all week-days up'to Noon on Saturdays. Ordinary fees will be charged on Saturday afternoons and on Public Holidays. The Course will be opened for play from 6 a.m. to 7, p.m. during the months of October, November, December, January, February, and March', and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (luring tho remainder of the year.
