It is well known that golf is freely and openly played) on Sundays on nearly ever.v golf course in the country, and that in view of the fact that the universal Saturday half-holiday is 'now in operation in Wellington, only the Saturday afternoon will be available to the ordinary citizen on which to play the gamo on the Municipal links if Sunday play, is to be barred. Mr. George Frost (chairman of the Reserves Committee) stated when consulted that the question hod not yet been discussed by the c. unci], but in the meantime there would be 110 Sun--1 day play, as a by-law existed which prevented Sunday play on any of the City reserves.
