OUR WOUNDED SOLDIERS
IN ENCLISH HOSPITALS. PROVISION OF COMFORTS. There lias been some public anxiety as to whether euougli is being done to provide comforts for New Zealand soldiers in hospitals in England. The Prime Minister was asked yesterday whether tlie Government wero doing anything for these sick and wounded men. "Some telegrams have passed recently concerning the very large number of New Zealand wounded in London, and the necessity of supplying them with tlio comforts that are required," said Mr. Massoy. "The New Zealand Government forwards money for this purpose periodically through tlie High Commissioner to the New Zealand War Contingent Association, of which Lord riunket is chairman. Only yesterday ail amount of £2500 from the New Zealand Treasury was forwarded for tliis purpose. It is intended that within a few days £5000 sliall be forwarded through His Excellency the Governor for the general purposes of the Mount Felix Hospital, on the Thames,_ which is a purely New Zealand hospital."
