The fortnightly meeting of the Thornton. Methodist Mutual Improvement Society was held 011 Tuesday eveninc when the society's journal, "Ra I'ouelco," was presented by tlio Editor Mr. D. M'Kenzie. Tlie articles, botl! humorous and serious, were of a hi<rh standard; many were original, and referred in the main to the war. Mention ivas made of the many male members of the society at present servino with the forces, and also of three who had nobly given their lives for their country. At tho closc of the meeting a vote of appreciation to Mr. M'Kenzie for his services as Editor was carried by acclamation.
