During the fortnight ended October 11, British officer losses in killed totalled 383; and in wounded, 646. The missing (107), included Major-General Thesiger and Major-General Capper. Two colonels and two lieutenant-colonels are dead; two brigadiers-general are wounded, and one is missing. The losses to officers since the beginning of the war total 5559 killed, 11,115 wounded, and 1536 missing.
