Lance-Corpl. "Wilfred Fitchett, soil of Dr. Fitchett, C.M.G. (Public Trustee), is returning by the hospital sliip Tofua, being invalided back from Egypt after a serious attack of enteric fever. Mr. Ben Fuller, managing director of the Fuller Vaudeville Co., Ltd., together with Mrs. Fuller and the members of the family, leavei Sydney thil week by the Niagara on a, trip to America. Trooper J. B. Cullwick, of the 6th Regiment (Australian Light Horse) was a passenger from Sydney by the Ulimaroa yesterday. He lias come to New Zealand to bid farewell to his parents, wITo reside at Waipawa, Hawbo's Bay.

Details concerning the death af Lieutenant Desmond F. Kettle, son of Mr. C. C. Kettle, S.M., who died while fighting on the Gallipoli Peninsula, have just been received from an officer who participated in the charge in which Lieutenant Kettle was killed. He says: "It is with feelings more of pride than of condolence that I pen these few lines in reference to Lieutenant Desmond Kettle's glorious end. One can rest assured he died upholding all our highest ideals of manhood and traditions of our race, Ho was badly wounded in the charge, but went on gallantly leading his men until the last. The next day his body was found in a Turkish trench with two dead Turks. We liava every reason to be proud of him—ha died a death few are privileged to die. He was indeed a hero." A private cable message has been received that Lieutenant Roy Messenger, who joined the Yorkshire Regiment, from Egypt,' and who was formerly employed by Messrs. Dalgety and Co., at Masterton and Napier, is missing. Mr. E. J. Healy, who recently resigned the conductorship of St. Mary, of the Angels' Choir, was entertained on Saturday evening by the members of the choir, and presented with an illuminated address, signed by the members, also a handsome silver.rose bowl fo* himself and Mrs. Healy, svitably inscribed. Advantage was taken of the presence of Corpl. A. P. Dwan, of the Wellington Rifle Brigade, a member of fhe choir, to present nim with a pair of binoculars. Messrs. Heal.y and Dwan suitably thanked the members for their very handsome presents The evening was pleasurably interspersed with voca.' and instrumental items. Mr. TV. H. Honey, who was in business in Wellington some years ago, arrived from Sydney by. the Ulimaro' yesterday. ,
