EARLY CLOSING OF HOTELS
POSITION IN NEW SOUTH WALES. By Telegraph—Press Association—Oopyright Sydney, October 23. Replying to the Wine Association's deputation's representations against the application of the proposed early closing sale to wine shops, on the ground that it would have a detrimental effect on an important local industry, the Premier (Mr. Holmes) promised sympathetic consideration. Ho was convinced, bo said, that the timo must come for dealing with wine as distinct from beer and spirits. He out that tho Government's early closing legislation was strictly emergency legislation and temporary. ■
