At the inquest on Mrs. Catherine Stanley, who died .'ill'the Hospital on October 0, tlie Coroner, Mr. Widdowson, returned a verdict .that death 'was tho result of an illegal operation to proeuro miscarriage. In summing-up Mr. Widdowson accused tho husband of despicable cowardice by his failure to inform tho doctors of the interference; otherwise her life might have been saved. Mr. Widdowson also said deliberate perjury had been committed by somebody during the inquest. Tiie police arc investigating the matter with a- view to further action.
