and it is difficult to say what tho value of ■wheat is at tho present time. Oat sheaf chaff is now much easier, and £5 to .£5 10s. at country stations are tho best price* offering. The potato market has weakened still .further, jind £6 10s. at country stations is now being offered. MONET MARKET. I> , The. Bank of-Eugland discount rate was ;on January 2, .1914, reduced from 5 to 45 ;per cent., on- January 22 it was reduced to '4 per cent., ! and ..'on January 28 to 3 per cent. On July.3o. the rate was raised to 4 per cent-.,, on July .31 it was raised to 8 per cent., and'on August 1 it was further advanced to JO-per cent.
