RIFLE-SHOOTING
A UNION OF OLUBS. Several rifio clubs, namely, tho Karori, Suburbs, Petone, Highland, and Old Navals have formed a Wellington City and Suburban liiflo Clubs' Union for the purpose of encouraging team shooting. _ The union proposes to promote junior and senior teams' matches for tlie first and second Saturdays in December, and any number of teams of ten men may be entered by any club. Challenge shields have been donated, and these will he fired for annually. For tho junior matches the ranges will be 300, 500, and 600 yards on both days, and for tho senior 300, 500, and 600 yards on the first day, and 800, 900, and 1000 yards on the second days. President M'Donald (Highland Rifle Club) is the president of tlie union, and Deputy-President Slaughter (Suburbs Rifle Club) is secretary and trea» surer.
