' Christchurcli, October 20. * Tho Royal Humane Society granted the following awards to-day:— In the case of John Lyell Deighton (20 years) and Henry Allen Evetts for attempting to rescue Thomas James Stevenson (-13 years) from drowning at Napier on July 15, 1915, Deighton' was' awarded a gold medal and Evetts a certificate. in "the case of Walter Ormsby (15 years), for rescuing two boys, William and iNonnan Speedy from drowning at Waihi on July 14, 1915, a silver medal. In the case of William Joseph Bishop (29 years), for rescuing John H. Gilchrist (35 years), from drowning at Gisborne on January 21, 1915, a silver medal. In the case of Maurice L. Davis (39 years), for rescuing Cecil Timniius (4 years) ' from drowning at Waikino oh July 1, 1915, a bronze medal. In the case of Hans Edgar (35 years),' for attempting to rescue Frederick Patton (36 years) from drowning at Ka-' rangahake on April 25, 1915, a bronze medal. : lu the case of Charles S. V. Pearce (15 years), for rescuing Neil Culling (11 years) from drowning at Ashbur'Wanganui on July 11, 1915, a cortificalo. . In the ease of Senior Sergeant Thomas Burke (58 years), for rescuing Joan Bree (2 years) from drowning at Wanagnui on July 11, 1915, a certificate. , In the case of Henry James Thompson (22 years), for rescuing Alfred Musson (23 years) from drowning at Clivo .Grange on January 6, 1915, a bronze medal.
