' The Northern Miners' Delegate Board ihas accepted a new agreoment with the employers, which/is still subject to the approval of the miners' lodges, ft provides for an all-round increase of six per cent, in wages, \ which will become operative immediately the agreement is ratified; also, it provides that cn and after January 1 next the sliding scale /shall operate, under which contract and i off-hand labour, shall receive their in- ■ ■creases, consequent, on a rise of one Bhilling in tho price of coal, from lis. to 12s. per ton.
The southern miners are still discussing tho agreement.
