The "Evening Standard's" correspondent at_ Peking says tliat a great military review planned for Ootober 10, the anniversary of tho formation of the Republic, was abandoned owing to the discovery that the military leaders had coup d'etat to forcibly crown Yuan Sliih Kai as Emperor during the review.
. The Imperial yellow robes were ready, and it was .known'that the President was willing and anxious to become tho first of a new dynasty. . v The monarchical movement is rapidly developing, and has grown in the belief that Yuan will be proclaimed Emperor on the first day of the new year.
