MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Seventeen persons were .called before Mr. D. G. A. Cooper, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court on Saturday morning to answer charges of drunkenness. John Patrick Covle (three previous convictions) ; was fined £2, with the option of sevon days' imprisonment ; Thomas O'Brien was fined 205., or three-days' imprisonment; Charles Fowler and Peter Chalmers were each fined 10s., or 48 hours' imprisonment.
