Splendid entries,"have been- received for the forthcoming Hawke s;Bay oiiow, which takes place,on October J) and-21. In spite of the war tlie'entries are fully on a par with last years list.,. One or two usual,exhibitors,have found « impossible to enter this,year on account of the difficulty'of-finding assistance, but. iifew exhibitors have made up for tho omissions. Sheep and cattleentries have improved, while'horse entries nave slightly decreased, the usual exhibitors of T horses .being largely composed of young men, many of wliom are absent on more important duties-in (xallipoli. The Railway Department nas made an important concession to; the Hawke s Bay Society this year by granting excursion fares , from the_ whole of the Manawatu line, in addition to the area from which they have been available before, viz., Wairarapa, Wanganui, Taibape, and intermediate stations., Ine accommodation at Hastings has never been so taxed before, and it is expected that the attendance of the public will be larger than ever.
Never has the demand for clear-headed constructive thinking in business been so urgent as it is Tight now. We are livinj in a progressive age, and must take advanigae of all up-to-dflit© methods. It ia in savings from waste of any description that money is made to-day, and by concentrating one s efforts on all details of our business we claim to be able to produce results for our many cream suppliers. So far there has only been a slight advance on the prices of the famous Victor Cheese Vats, and. factories are now ordering in view of'a possible further increase.
