-f— At the first meeting this season of the Management Committee of the Wellington Cricket Association, entries for tlie senior and junior championships ivoro received from the following clubs; —Central, North, East, Victoria College., and Old Boys. The latter club also entered a team for the Third Class Championship. Permission was granted Trentham and Hutt to enter a team Bach for the Senior Championship. Owing. to the unusual circumstances pre--vailing this season, it was decided that tho application of the Boys' Institute to enter their Old Boys' team in the Senior Championship / could not be granted. . Practice is to commence at the Basin Reserve 011 Saturday next, and tho season proper will open 011 the following Saturday, October 16, with a representative matoli Wellington v. Trentham, the proceeds-of which will go towards Christmas presents for soldiers at the front. SOLDIERS' SENIOR. CLUB. At a very successful meeting liold at Trentham Camp it was decided to form a Ci'ickot Club and to enter « team for the Wellington Senior Championship. Amongst others,- tho following well-known players' will coniposo. tliei team: —W. Sandman, G. Hawke, S. Dempsey, H. M. M'Girr, J. H. Bennett, C. M. Bannernion, M. .T. Naugliton, W. Atkinson, E. Bornau. With the inclusion of others yofc to come into camp' it is hoped to put a very fair team in the field.
