Melbourne Trams, MURE AT CHEEK COMPANY, In his report for tho month of September the mine> manager of the Murraiy Greek Gold Mining Company states that No. 3 level was extended. 38 feet south on tho reef, which makes a total' distance driven on the reef of 104 feet, Before continuing the drive further south it will be necessary to take off the leading stope over the level. A rise of 45 feet -was put up on the reef, and a connection made n ltn tile wiuze sunk from the intermediate level above, which gives a, total of 215 ft. sin. of backs to the international level, an 11 an additional 98ft: from the intermediate level to No. 2 level. The r.re bin .and ho. 1 chamber have been com,pleted. Men have been employed timbering No. 3 level and getting ready for Hoping; 240 tons of Quartz have been broken and ready for 'crushing. Tho new battery underwent a trial, and but for one or two minor breakages, which' are inseparable from new plant, everything worked splendidly. , Repairs are being done, and crushing' is expccted to be in full swing towards the end of tho week. ROSS GOLDFIELDS. mine superintendent .of the Ross Goldftelds Reconstructed reports as follows on the work at the mine for the week ending September 30;— No. 2 cast drive was continued in fair grade wash for 8 feet further, making a total progress of £05 feet from No. 2 shoot. At 795 feet No. 12' 6onth drive was started,. and advanced 34 feet, the last. 18 feet showing 2 feet 6 inches of pay wash below the back lathe. Nos. 15 and 11 north drives were advanced 13 'Ind1 nd y, feet respectively in fair grade wash. Blocking is proceeding off ftos. 7 and Jio- 9 north drive. .
