RECRUITING RALLY SUCCESTED.

Sir,—in .view of the pressing need for moro recruits and a greater stimulus needed to cncourago young able-bodied men to offer their services, I should like to suggest that' a monster recruit-' ing rally bo held in the Town Hall, preceded by a. march through the city of the military' bands,' playing patriotic uirs.Tlio .ground floor , and the gallery ■immediately facing the organ (including side galleries) of the hall could be opened to. the public, ■ but the.seatA behind the platform and all tho^o.immediately; below tlio organ to be re; served exclusively for the men mho come'forward to .offer themselves as recruits. I .would also,: like to suggest that as ma.ny as.possible of tho returned wounded soldiers be invited to attend in uniform, and : just mako a brief appeal, to. eligifclo young men,: as it would'then tend, to have more effect on the meeting: than; ; just one or two long speeches from the usual public men. 'h conclusion I would like to add that the bands be asked to play, during m:'tervals, and the hall bo livened up with plenty of bunting and flags, so as to make' the meeting as bright and profit--able as possible.—l am, etc., PATERFAMILIAS.
