For Disinfecting Shirts. A contributor has forwarded a solution for. disinfectinc the shirts made of butter muslin for; the soldiers at the front. . The -carbolic mixture has not been found successful, but this solution is,. said •to be,.. efficacious Stockholm tar, 1 part; turpentine,' 2 parts, mix; add 'methylated spirits, 10 parts.. . . . This solution can be diluted with further methylated spirits, _ by adding 4 parts of /methylated spirit to one part of the solution. :

By the next troopships that are leaving New Zealand there will be sent by the Miltary ; Hospital' Guild for the' No. 1 New Zeland Stationary Hospital 100 each : of every., garment, needed fay sick and wounded l soldiers in hospital, and' also 100 each of articles needed for bed'equipment,'6uch as sheets., pillowcases, etc. There will' also be sent by the Countess' of ..Liverpool Committee to the soldiers at the front ,t>wo cases at least of balaclavas and the same number of cases of mufflers. Next month the committee intends to forward a large snppy of socks, Bhirts,-jerseys, etc. . .
, A. meeting of the, committee of the Countess of Liverpool Fund was' held yesterday, and was presided l over by the Mayoress. Accounts .were passed for payment and. guarantees for Christmas gifts for the soldiers dealt with. Reports in. connection with the Leather Waistcoat Fund and the Christmas Gift JiHwds/were presented by the honorary treasurer and other matters brought for-' ward.
