MOTOR ACCIDENT
. MttS; MATHEWSON INJURED. ' Shortly after' 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon, Mrs: - Mathewsoii, the wellknown milliner and costumier, of Lambton Quay., was. about to cross the Quay opposite her own. premises to visit a warehouse, when sho was 1 run'over by a.'motor-tar, which was running northwards at ii" fair rate of speed. The car caught Mrs. Mathewsoii , a full buffet, and then ' ran over her prostrate form, arid in order to free bor from the car it had to be lifted bodily by half a dozen' ken. •' • She was at onco conveyed to' her'.'own shop, where she was attended to by Dr. HcnrjK ; Apart from the very- severe shock sustained,- her injuries are fortunately not serious. Sho sustained a painful cut on lier left cheek, just under the eye, and some minor scratches, whilst one of lier shoulders was rather badly bruised. A soreness in the side, where she was struck by the car, gave rise to the fear that ono or more of her ribs had teen broken, but Dr. Henry's examination elicited that no bones wero broken. She recovered sufficiently to be removed to her home between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.
