SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY
A' successful evening was spent at the Sailors' Friend Society, when a programme ivas provided by Miss Baker and helpers. Competitions were held, and added.to the enjoyment of the evening. .At the close a hearty vote, of thanks to the performers was moved, by the Missioner, *»~r. Moore, and responded to by Miss Baker. The following contributed to tho ..programme: Misses Baker, . Janson, Clinburgli, Owen, Messrs. Staples, Coydalo, Dowlerj Lowe (Arawa), Nelson (Hawke's Bay), and Smith (Arawa), and Master Baker.
Tlio Vogeltown and Mornington Electors' Association are to,ho advised in reply to their request for the removal of the Hutcheson JJoad tip, that the City Engineer has reported that ho is not üblo to suggest a substitute site,
