WELLINGTON RACING CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING. At tlifl annual general meeting of members of tlie Wellington Racing Club last night, the vice-president (Mr. W. H. Sefton Moorhouse) was iu the chair. The annual report and the balance-sheet (particulars of which have already been published) were adopted. Ia moving the adoption of the report, the chairman said that' in. handing over the! racecourse and buildings to the Health authorities for the use of the troops, the stewards took it for granted that they had the wholehearted Bupijort of every member of the club. The privilege was of vital importance to th'o Military authorities, and had been amply nclinowledged by the Erime Minister on the floor of 'the House. Arrangements for the future were at present incomplete. The buildings and .course would probably be required for some little time after the Spring Meeting, but this would depend largelv upon the health of the troops. The chairman referred to the financial aspeot of the step which hsd been taken, an,d .also made reference to the policy of continuing racing during the war, his remarks being reported elsewhere. .Ha congratulated members lipon the result of the year's work, and stated that .during the coming season it was proposed to carry on very much on tho lines of the past year. , ' ~ . Approval was expressed of the action of those members who had offered their services to the nation. A list of names will be prepared for the next annual meet* On the motion of Dr. H. A. H.
