COMPLAINT BY OUR MEN. . The statement that the Now ZealandMs on active service in Gallipoli are fed partly on American tinned .meat?; which' they find salty and objectionable, was made m the IJouse on Tuesday by Mr. G. V. Pearce, who asked tlie Minister. of Defence whether . the men could not get New Zealand meat. \ . The. Hon. James Allen said that the Imperial authorities wero supplying the New' Zealand troops with meat from the Imperial Ordnance ' Stores. -He had heard indirectly that , the New Zealanders were petting American meat, while the British troops ''nest door", were receiving'ffew Zealand moat; 'much to the satisfaction, of the "Toinniip.s." He had already cabled to London about this ,'matter, and'.hoped-that if new Zealand meat could not be supplied in the. ordinary way.it would at• leastbe available through canteens,- which he had asked permission to establish for our troops. v - •
