THEIR RAILAGE. ■Tha General Manager of Railways writes to the Dominion secretary of the Farmers', Union in reply to t)ho resolution's of the recent conference as follows""With reference to the resolution passed by the recent Dominion Conference- of the New Zealand •'Fanners'.- Union to- the, effect. that the Government/be asked .to 'ronsidar-,the-ques-tion of reducing'the cost -to" exliibitors of agricultural .implements, and'stock by allowing them to. be moved" from show to show without having to return to .their original point of consignment', before a; refund.in freightcould beobtained, I have the hoiiour- to inform you that.the; matter of simplification of thb conditions governing %the certificates for Show exhibits is at* prosent under consideration. - With, regard' to . the latter, portion of the.resolution, there would appear to be.'- some fe' misapprehension on the part, of the Department's present*, practice provides. for exhibits being moved from show to' show provided ■ they' are returned to the original sending station within one monthi of the date "upon •wnich they .were first consigned." !
