(Taranaki) drew the attention of the Prime Minister to the above cablegram in Parliament last night. Mr. Massey said that he had known nothing about the matter until liis attention was drawn to the cable message; As far as Sir Rider Haggard was'concerned,' he had visited this country. on a previous occasion, and he (Mr. Massey) knew that he was an exceedingly practical man. Whether he came to . teach us, or to learn from us, w6 would be very glad to see him. Mr. Massey said he had no doubt Sir Rider Haggard would bo pleased with what wo were doing hero, though lio was Coming from an Imperial point/ of view, father than a Dominion one, and was coming probably: to ascertain whether any blocks of. land were available in the Dominion for settling Imperial soldiers. Wo should be very glad to see him, and give him any information possible.
