The House of Representatives sat at 2.30 p.m. , , The Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Bill (the Hon. W. H. Herries), and the West Coast Settlement Reserves Amendment Bill (the Hon. W. H. Herries) were readla second.time pro forma, and referred to the Native Affairs Committee. The amendments made by the Legislative Council in. the Cook Islands Bill were agreed to. The amendments made by-the'Legis-lative Council in the- Land Transfer Acts Compilation were agreed to. •
SHODDY BOOTS. The Right .'Hon. W. F. ' MASSEY .moved the tecond ..reading of tlio Footwear Regulation Amendment Bill,' and explained the amendments in the principal Act proposed in'the Bill. ( ■ . The Bill was read a second timo.
MINERS' PHTHISIS. ' The.. Hon. \V. ERASER moved the second reading of the Miners' Phthisis Bill, the object of which, as ho said, was to remove any ' incertitude that might be felt by sufferers from pneumoconiosis as to the' amount' of.relief tbey might expect. .' Mr. H. POLAND (Ohinemuri) spoke 011 the Bill, and then the debato was adjourned. ' .
