• TRAGEDY IN AUCKLAND HUSBAND ALLEGEDLY SHOT BY HIS WIFE (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Auckland, September 55. Thomas Perry, a farmer at Ramarnma, 25 milts south of' Auckland, was . killed by a shot from a shotgun while . in; bed with his wife at 3 o'clock this. morning; tho circumstances pointing to \ a cold-blooded murder. . Perry was about 40 years of ago and liis wife several years younger. He leaves a family of nine children, tlieir ages: ranging from, 11 years to two months. ' Perry returned from a visit to. tho city last night. . The family, on the .usual happy'terms, retired .at 11 o'clock; Mrs. Perry states that slie was awakened by a gunshot at 3 rum. She heard her liusband making .noises, and saw .he had been shot ii\ tho head. The. eldest son, John, who was sleeping, in an-, adjoining room, said ho heard a gunshot. "On goiug into his parents' room he asked his mother what was the matter With his fatheiy She replied '■ that somebody had'blown his head off.. She'told him, to call a neighbour. Tho. bov did so. Dr. Brookfield, of Pnpak'ura, was sent for, and arriving with police at 4.45, Perry was dead. His head was very badly shattered, several parts of tho skull being blown away. A sensational development has ocr curred in connection with the shootingt of Thomas Perry at Ramarania early on Saturday, morning. Cliief-Detective Macmahon and Sergeant-Detective Hollisarrested' Mrs. Amelia Perry, widow ; of the deceased, at 2 p.m. to-day at Ramarama and charged her with murder.'
