WELLINGTON OLUB MEETS,
The annual meeting of the Welling-, ton Lawn Tennis Club was held in Gamble and Creed's Rooms, Lambton Quay,' last night, Mr. R. Kennedy presiding. The annual report' and balance-sheet (already published) were adopted. The folio.ving telegram was read from Mr. F, W. Crombie, late secretary of tie club, who recently joined the Reinforcements at.Trentham: "Regret unable to bo present at meeting; best wishes for success. Promoted to-da.y to sergeant.The telegram was received with applause. i - Officers were elected as follow for the ensuing year President, Mr. E. K. Kirkoaldie; vice-presidents, Messrs. A. J. Fernie, W. Eraser, A. Hoby. G. Shand, and C. Piimmer; committee, Messrs. W. D. Irons, R Kennedy, J. L. Russell, Nicholson, and Allinan; treasurer, Mr. Eggleston; , secretary, Mr. H. Van Staveren;: delegates to W.P.L.T.A., Messrs. H. Van Staveren and W. D. Irons: auditor, Mr. A. R. coad. : _ . - ' Eulogistic reference was made to the work for tlio'club as treasurer of Mr. R; J. Grant, who had resigned that office to join the Reinforcements at Trentham. .
