After a- good start ho drew awa.v from his opponent, and at the Aramoho bridgo he was at least two and a half lengths ahead, ' whilst" Hadlield was plugging away in iuid-sti'.eans against a perceptible head w'iiul! Shait'po won by a good two lengths, amidst <i good- deal of enthusiasm, the bank and riversido road being choked with motors, traps, cyclists, and horsemen.. • The spectators . were 'almost delirious ;with joy on'seeing the pale blue'colours home: first ;on .two occasions in the one! day.
